Dumortierite typically forms fibrous aggregates of slender prismatic crystals which can vary in colour from blue, green and brown to the more rare pink and violet. When viewed at different angles, the pleochroism may show reds, blues and violets. Dumortierite quartz is a blue quartz which contains abumdant dumtierite inclusions.
Dumortierite is frequently used to boost psychic abilities and for work on the third eye chakra. It is known as a stone for self-reliance and discipline.
